Growth Mindset

Embracing a growth mindset is an eye-opening experience that requires intentional effort, self-awareness, and grit. In this assignment, I examine the four essential steps to adopting a Growth Mindset: recognizing fixed mindset thoughts, choosing a growth-oriented perspective, replacing negative self-talk, and taking actionable steps toward improvement. Incorporating mindfulness, reframing my thoughts, and embracing the “power of yet,” I will show how challenges can be opportunities to Enhance grit and support long life learning. Whether it’s in my classroom or in the ADL program, I’m learning to celebrate progress, embrace failures, and keep growing.

Learning Manifesto

While traditional education continues to leave many students behind, the need for adaptive learning technologies has never been more crucial. As an educator who has experienced learning challenges firsthand, I've witnessed how personalized approaches can reshape educational paths. This belief is central to my Learning Manifesto, where I advocate for a shift away from rigid, one-size-fits-all models toward dynamic, student-centered learning environments. The path forward isn't about standardizing education—it's about building flexible systems that adapt to each learner's unique strengths, pace, and potential.

Learning Contribution

Sometimes life has its own timeline, and for me, that meant waiting twelve years to start my master's. And that turned out to be exactly right for me. These two courses, EDLD 5302 and 5304 have changed my perspective on what it means to be both a teacher and a student more than I ever would have imagined. Between discovering Carol Dweck's ideas about growth mindset and learning about the Four Disciplines of Execution I've found new ways to approach my classroom. As I reflect on this whirlwind semester of projects, challenges, research, and a ton of reading  I’m amazed at how much this chapter has changed me—both as a teacher and as a person. The insights and strategies I’ve gained are reflected in my Learning Contributions, where I document my journey, share key takeaways, and explore how these experiences are shaping my approach to education.
