Like any great adventure, my journey into the world of digital learning began with a single click – specifically, the "Submit" button on my Masters in Applied Digital Learning program application. As I approach the end of my first class in the Masters of Applied Digital Learning program, I find myself reflecting on the journey so far. It's been an intense but rewarding experience, and I wanted to share some thoughts on what I've learned and how it's shaping my perspective on education and technology.
When I first enrolled in this program, I wasn't sure what to expect. Applied Digital Learning sounded interesting, but also a bit daunting. Would I be able to keep up with the latest educational technologies? Could I effectively apply digital tools to enhance learning experiences? How in the world would I learn how to cite with APA after only using MLA. However, nearing the completion of class, I can confidently say that while the learning curve was steep. But was so incredibly exciting!! Each week brought new insights into how technology can transform education.
In this journey of a thousand clicks, every click has revealed something new:
- I discovered amazing tools I never knew existed (who knew learning analytics could be so fascinating?)
- I unlocked abilities to transform ordinary lessons into engaging digital experiences.
- Digital libraries are so much more convenient than the old way of doing research!!
As I wrap up this first class, I'm eager to dive into the next one. The field of Applied Digital Learning is vast, and I feel like I've only scratched the surface. I'm particularly excited to explore more about:
- Gamification in education
- Adaptive learning systems
- Creating engaging multimedia content for online courses
This first class has reaffirmed my decision to pursue this Masters program. It's clear that the future of education is increasingly digital, and I am beyond thrilled to be developing the skills to help shape that future. To anyone considering a similar path, I'd say go for it! Here's to the next class, and the exciting journey ahead! -LM
